Constantia mentioned on the Dutch America Forum, using her Dutch and US-based author/nickname "Sten," that she won the Green Card Lottery. However, it was her ex-husband who was the actual winner. The forum post stated that there were six winners out of 64 participants, specifically on that forum in 2011. It is important to note that there were many more participants in the Netherlands in 2009, the year when they made their "DV-2011" entry. In the lottery, one enters in year "A", and the outcome is in year "B". After winning, the mandatory year of immigration is either year "B" or "C". If one does not immigrate during those years, the Green Card will expire.
After living in the USA for five years and fulfilling tax obligations, one can choose to become a US citizen. Both Constantia and her ex-husband chose to do so.

Constantia obtained her teaching certificate for secondary education in German and Dutch in 1990. She earned her MA with honors in German Language and Literature from Utrecht University (The Netherlands) in 1993. For about 20 years, she resided in Utrecht (City, Central Netherlands), where she attended Utrecht University, ranked 72nd worldwide in 2019. She highly recommends Utrecht as the most beautiful and coziest city in The Netherlands. Constantia has also lived in Eindhoven-Woensel (South Netherlands), Groningen (City) (North Netherlands), Aalst-Waalre (South Netherlands), Dortmund (Germany), and at the seaside in Scheveningen (The Hague) (West Netherlands), which was her last location in The Netherlands.

Constantia has published five books on out-of-body (and near-death) experiences. Four of these books are in Dutch, and four of the books are written by Constantia herself. The fifth book is by the Austrian yogi, Alfred Ballabene.

In 2009, Constantia registered herself and her now ex-husband separately for the Green Card Lottery, following normal procedure to double their chances. She initiated and completed the registration, and her ex-husband was okay with it. His name was drawn, which had a probability of about 1.5-2%. Constantia had also registered both of them in 2008, but they were not successful until their second attempt.

Constantia and her ex-husband immigrated to the United States on October 4, 2011 (World Animal Day), and became US citizens on March 29, 2017. She is a vegan and an avid bird lover, currently residing in Davis - Ivy Town!, California, also known as "The Magic Sphere."

Constantia describes herself as "The Roaring and Soaring Skeptic". 🦁🦅

I can't see that a page is empty when you delete it. I imagine you don't read The Enterprise or The Bee, or didn't see that they both had stories mentioning that particular group. However, that's why it was worth having a page, so that Davis and environs can be well-represented on DavisWiki. Now, as you say, to fill it up with useful &/or interesting materials.
Thank you for making the reversion and improving the page. As far as reading habits, of course, you should read what's of interest to you. I guess I'm suggesting that a modicum of local news reading helps one be an excellent DavisWiki editor, but that's an opinion :^{) "Your mileage may vary," as we fogeys like to say.}

Congratulations to (the work in progress of the) the Admin Masters of Change on Davis Wiki!! The new look and feel is astonishing!

Because I can't add comments in the usual way yet, I'm adding this comment manually on my own page. Thank you for all your hard work to make this happen.

I noticed my newest contributions to the 'Wind' page aren't included. Is this still to come, or do you want me to add them again (wind details December 24-26). I wonder if all the most recent changes - December 24 up til now - will still be added, or are they to be redone? Let me/us know if you find the time.

Philip has always been the coder (along with Mike), and has been focusing on the Localwiki project for the last few years. That is part of the reason he was semi-absent for awhile on Wiki Spot: he was doing cool stuff with other cities, while I was heavily active here. That's also why Wiki Spot is being dropped, although there are people working to help save those wikis. I think I've been an admin since 2005. Many of the accepted norms that people say are "standard" amuse me, because I just started formatting things that way because I figured it looked good. When you invent the standard (and edited with others who invented the other "standards" in the same way), you're much less reverent toward demanding those be followed: it was just something we did because we needed to invent *something*. 2015-04-23 04:12:47 Hey Constantia, I just read your message to me. I am sorry what I did came off as inconsiderate and abrasive. I can see how it upset you. I think we might have differing opinions on the purpose of a wiki page. From my understanding over my years editing the wiki, a page and the entirety of a wiki is not so much about an individual's collection of photos of an event. I see the wiki as a resource that summarizes or categorizes events, people, and places in a more or less concise manner, unless images accompanying a page really show and/or necessitate diversity, as many pages do. I just don't see Picnic Day as one of those in terms of your uploads, as to me, many appear as just slightly different images of the same event, like with the Band-Uh performance. It's worth noting that if this came off to me this way, it's quite possible that others (who were not the biased author of the photos) might very well feel the same, and isn't that what really matters? What is perceived by the average wiki user? That said, I did not mean to slice up your contribution as if it meant nothing. I just perceived that perhaps you had trouble editing down your selection of photos, as the majority of them read "same" to me. The example you give re: Band-Uh conductors is, for me, the exact reason why I removed many involving those guys, as it was pretty much the same shot of Wellman, plus or minus a single person. I totally understand that one's photos are one's babies, in a sense. I totally respect that and I'm truly sorry that my actions did not reflect that. I knew while editing that whether I approached you first or simply took action we might have a point of conflict. Based on your reflections, I'm not sure how we can resolve this, as it is a pretty big point of disagreement: It comes down to the fundamentals of what a wiki's all about, as I mentioned earlier. Would you be open to minimizing the size of your photos and eliminating at least some of the repetitious images? I also truly believe that categories really present well and make all the aspects of Picnic Day very clear to the wiki reader, as opposed to what seems to me to be a mish-mosh; how might we amend this so both parties have some satisfaction? I really like that you opened up the floor to other users' photo uploads, though b ecause you yourself have so many images, I can see how others might feel it redundant/unnecessary to contribute any of theirs. Unlike a Tumblr page, I don't see the purpose of the wiki as a place to scroll through countless images, many of the same thing, only shot by different people. Can you see my point of view, even if you don't agree with it? Anyway, please accept my apology for dealing any insult to you. I hope we can change the page so both our viewpoints are somewhat honored. To perhaps elucidate my point, I notice that the representation of Picnic Day for other years appeals more to my sensibilities and opinions in regard to a more discriminating, concise choice of photos. The organization of them needs major amendment, in my opinion, but the overall selection of images is much less repetitious. For example, check out Picnic Day 2005. Other years could use work, I'd agree, in terms of number of images presented, but I like that what IS presented for them are not repetitive in nature. That's really the crux of what I'm trying to communicate, hence I really hope you reconsider when it comes to so many images of the same event, or images that give no context whatesoever, like with the children or the dogs (notice, however, that I left categories and your images for those so as not to completely obliterate your enthusiasm for those subjects.) I won't again remove what you have currently because I don't wish to make this any kind of battle, so if you don't have it in your character to compromise, rest assured the page will remain as is. I just would see that as defeating the purpose of having multiple opinions shaping the look and organization of the wiki. —EliseKane

2017-09-28 22:55:10 Hi Constantia. I know that historic weather patterns are not necessarily those of the future. However, I can assure you that, before the drought set in, it was common for some to complain about the FOG in Davis in the winter. Once the sloughs & wetlands have a persistent amount of water, if fronts don't come through, winter dew points are often higher than the morning temperature. This results in fog forming everywhere in the Valley, especially around said sloughs and wetlands. Usually, the fog will burn off by 1 or 2 PM, and then dusk hits at 4:50 PM, and an office worker can miss every bit of sun for a week or two, or more. A tag does not help you find a page in search results; it creates of group of similar pages. You can click the tag to see a list of pages and a map with everything tagged. Ideally all LocalWiki's will use the same tags for the same topic because you can also use the tag to see similar pages in other cities. —ToddGlenn
