Founded in 1922, the DSR was the progenitor of DDOT, the Detroit Department of Transportation. The City started buying the Detroit United Railway urban system, and the DSR managed it. The last streetcars were decommissioned on April 8, 1956. You can see streetcars in Detroit livery in San Francisco.
