Blackie's Pasture is an open space where a retired cavalry horse named "Blackie" used to hang out.

The swaybacked horse grazed in this pasture for 28 years. People of all ages use to feed him carrots, sugar, and hay until his death in 1966.

There's a statue of this horse at the pasture now. There are also remnants of a railroad trestle, a local landmark until it war torn down in 1968.
