MNopedia is an online encyclopedia about Minnesota developed by the Minnesota Historical Society (MNHS) and its partners. MNopedia is a free, curated, authoritative resource about Minnesota. All of the  articles are prepared for MNopedia by historians, consulting experts, professional writers, and others who have been vetted by the Minnesota Historical Society.

Each article consists of text, images, links to related articles, and a bibliography, plus a list of related references divided into primary, secondary, and web resources for those wanting to learn more. New content is added weekly.

The content is organized in alignment with the Minnesota K-12 Academic Standards for Social Studies and the Northern Lights curriculum. It can be searched by keyword, era, topic, or category, or by browsing the full index. An interactive map feature connects to articles about places throughout the state.

Additional features include a monthly "Spotlight," a collection of articles supporting a given theme, and "This Day in Minnesota History," based on the Minnesota Book of Days, a searchable database full of interesting tidbits of historical information for each day.

MNopedia is supported by the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
