Dr. Victor Garcia developed the Core Change Summit, who is also a pediatric surgeon at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center. He also co-chairs CoreChange Cincinnati, an organization made up of a diverse group of community and institutional leaders in Cincinnati. Using proven planning methodologies of Appreciative Inquiry, Systems Thinking, Asset-Based Community Development and Design Thinking, CoreChange seeks to compliment regional planning efforts by addressing three objectives that have proven challenging to sustain: systemic solutions aimed at urban poverty and its effects, effective civic investment by the residents most impacted by those conditions, and a conviction of shared accountability for urban problems among those who live outside the urban core. Dr. Garcia believes that everyone—no matter how old or young, no matter what economic or racial background has something to contribute that could positively affect Greater Cincinnati.
