Originally from Maryland, Rob Adams settled in Duluth in 2011 after studying and teaching art for a number of years in Eugene, OR.

Rob's work highlights the contrasts around us, either by combining different media (e.g. paint, collage, comics, assemblage, textual elements) or by juxtaposing incongrous themes. It is aways eye catching, fun and thought provoking.

One piece, "You Sank My Freighter! (Wrecks of Lake Michigan)", seems to mock concerns for maritime safety by "geo-locating" shipwrecks on an assemblage of Battleship games laid out in the shape of Lake Michigan.

"Touch-free Art Dispenser" may be interpreted as a comment on our modern obsession of attaining a germ-free environment. Or is it a comment on our perceived need for designer-everything? Or is it just way, way cool?
