Back Up Train (1967) is the debut album by soul musician Al Green, then performing by his birth name, Al Greene. This was Green's only full length album recorded in Grand Rapids before moving to Memphis, TN. It was released by Hot Line Music Journal, a local label started by Palmer James and Curtis Rogers, two of Green's classmates at South High School. The album was recorded while Green was only 20, and it has been alleged that he never saw a penny from the release. 1
