The 55th Street Garden is a community garden located at 1167 55th Street in Golden Gate Neighborhood of Oakland. The garden was founded by and is currently operated by the The North Oakland Land Trust "NOLT" - a 501(c)3 nonprofit volunteer-run organization. After several years as a teaching/market garden, the 55th Street Garden returned to it's chartered mission in 2011 and officially became a "plot system" community garden solely managed and funded by NOLT.
The garden hosts community events and provides space for 30+ members to garden, grow their own food and spend time in a green space in the midst of a dense urban environment. Please contact us about membership, volunteering, donating to the garden and other inspired ideas!
