EarthEXPO

On Wednesday, April 8, 2015 the Oakland Public Works’ Environmental Services Division will host its 20th annual Oakland EarthEXPO in Frank H. Ogawa Plaza, 14th Street at Broadway. Running from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the environmental fair is an opportunity to get in-person information and resources on sustainable products and practices from more than 100 sustainable businesses, non-profits and environmental and community leaders. Approximately 2,000 people are expected to attend and learn about all things sustainable: water conservation, waste reduction, recycling, energy efficiency, alternative transportation and housing, volunteerism, urban nature and more. The goal is for Oakland EarthEXPO attendees to leave with information and resources for sustainable living. Come enjoy a delicious lunch from one of the sustainable food vendors, take part in energy and solar assessments, check out an electric vehicle, get a free bike route map and learn about socially responsible investing, community planning, job training, arts and crafts, recycling and composting, outdoor recreation, nature and more. On Wednesday, April 9, 2014 the Public Works Agency will host the EarthEXPO in Frank H. Ogawa Plaza from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The annual environmental fair highlights transportation, environmental health, waste reduction, water, energy, urban design, nature and community themes. Over 80 exhibitors will gather to showcase their contributions for a sustainable environment to an estimated 2,000 attendees. Last year, attendees lined up at the local eats food vendors to enjoy delicious fresh, local lunch menus and hundreds of event participants explored the event using the “Close the Loop” walking tours. The walking tours suggested linkages between exhibitors and offered free giveaways to attendees who visited a series of booths on one of the designated loops.
