Gilda Gonzales was the President of the Port of Oakland Commission until 2013. She was appointed in 2009 by then mayor Ron Dellums. 2 She has been the CEO of the Unity Council. She worked for then-Mayor Elihu Harris as a Policy Analyst and then-City Manager (Administrator) Robert Bobb as well as Mayor Jerry Brown. Gonzales has a BA from St Mary's in Moraga and a Masters of Public Administration from Cal State East Bay (some know this as Cal State Hayward). In March 2013, Ms. Gonzales was inducted in the Alameda County Women's Hall of Fame.1

Gonzales was a Fellow and Legislative Aide in the California State Assembly. She has been on the Alameda County First Five Commission, State Farm Bank National CRA Advisory Board, Bay Area Council Economic Institute Board of Trustees, and the Oakland Central City East Redevelopment Project Area Committee.3

Gilda Gonzales' name was brought up as a potential candidate for Mayor in the 2014 Election.
