Peets was a local bay area coffee chain that has morphed into a coffee juggernaut with 193 locations. Their first location was in Berkeley and their headquarters are in E'ville. Their primary roasting plant is in Alameda. They have 7 locations in Oakland. In Berkeley and San Francisco they've even got locations in underground bunkers. We are completely and utterly surrounded (but the coffee is good and for people who have lived here forever, it feels local since we remember life before the Evil Empire and the second wave or third wave of coffee or whatever this is and Peets was what there was!).
