The Responsible Data Forum is a series of collaborative events, co-organized by Aspiration and the engine room, and convened in the first half of 2014 to develop useful tools and strategies for dealing with the ethical, security and privacy challenges facing data-driven advocacy.

Upcoming events include:

Responsible Data Forum: Oakland, California, March 6, 2014. (REGISTRATION IS OPEN)

This kick-off event will be an opportunity to begin mapping the  issues, resources, actors and needs for responsible data-driven advocacy. Held on the back end of RightsCon, we’re looking for wide engagement to guide the course of the Forum in the coming months. See more info at the event page.

Building on RDF:Oakland in the coming months, we’ll be organizing a number of activities and events to prepare for Budapest. This will increasingly include deep dives into specific issue areas, as well as prototyping and testing concrete tools and resources for tackling ethical, privacy and security challenges for data-driven advocacy. We’ll be updating this page as activities are confirmed.

Responsible Data Forum: Budapest, June 2-3, 2014

Budapest will be our opportunity to build on everything that we’ve learned over the course of the last months and produce concrete tools and strategies for responsible data in advocacy. This will involve prototyping and refining resources and tools, focusing on specific challenges, and doing everything we can to address the needs and challenges surfaced to date. Space for Budapest will be limited. To get updates on activities and reservations, send an email.
