Visit Oakland Center - Oakland

The Visit Oakland Center is the official visitors center for Oakland, and is at 481 Water Street in Jack London Square. Visit Oakland promotes Oakland to the tourist industry at large as well as info to visitors, and is supported by the city's hotel tax.

Visit Oakland Announces First Official Oakland Visitor Center and New Office Location in Jack London Square

CC SA-BY Our OaklandThis week, Visit Oakland and the Mayor hosted the opening of the first official Oakland Visitor Center. The office is located at 481 Water Street, in front of the Waterfront Hotel (cross street is Washington Street).

Mayor Quan welcomed the crowd and the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce officially opened the location with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Following the ribbon cutting, Alison Best, president & CEO of Visit Oakland, invited guests to tour the Visit Oakland offices and learn about the different opportunities to partner with the organization."

Visit Oakland itself (the official marketing group of Oakland) was awarded the 2014 Poppy Award in the Committed To Tourism category from Visit California. The award honors Visit Oakland’s initiative to maintain the Broadway corridor from City Center to Jack London Square through the Public Works Agency’s Adopt-A-Spot program. The Poppy Award, a biennial contest, honors the best and brightest of California Tourism promotion. A panel of industry marketing experts selected winners from the pool of entries. ¹
