You need help. You're offering help. Welcome to the Help Club. This page is for general help, not urgent needs. If you're in crisis, see Crisis Response Team.

Your neighbor may be a senior struggling with keeping the house up. Government pensions just don't cover it. The latest City Hall tax increase just stole their grocery money. But you have no idea. Their washer breaks down, and who can they call? Their kids are too busy or they live too far away. The fact is, people get in all sorts of trouble all the time. You slide off an icy road in winter. An official tow out of the ditch will set you back at least $100. You rely on someone stopping to ask if you're OK. That's just what we do. We help each other. But you can't help someone if you don't know they need help.

In the bigger picture, our government systems are failing us. Government is filled with people doing all sorts of things. But who knows what? They love telling other people what to do. But in your entire life, has anyone from government ever shown up to ask how you're doing? No. They're all talk. They never lift a finger to help.

They say it's all about money. But they spent our  social security money. On themselves. On ever-increasing wages, while at the same time keeping your  wages low and fixed. Minimum wage, How does this work in a hospital? An administrator comes down hard on the people doing the actual work. making life difficult to impossible. Then, they take the budget money for themselves, leaving nothing to run the place. So they call on volunteers to do all the hard work for free. At the very least, a volunteer should get Volunteer hours. An Hours Bank. Help someone in need, receive help later in life. That's real social security. Right now, seniors who spent a lot of their lives helping others are alone and not getting help.

Here in the Help Club, there's a chance you can either help someone in need or get help. Sometimes you just need a friend to show you how to do something. "hey, it sounds like a faulty solenoid". That sort of thing.

Informal. But because so much of society is failing, from food to work to housing to having a future at all, we may need something a bit more formal. The only thing to so is to go ahead and do it. Join our HoursBank:  Volunteers, bank your hours. Help someone in need, receive help later in life.  Education Hours: Learn from someone, repay by teaching someone else. Venture Hours: What you're working on with others may pay you back one day. Record who did what safely. HoursLoan: Get help now with a project or repair. Help someone else. Sometimes you just need someone to show up and help. You may need Health Help. Earn social security hours on an Ecoteam that solves sustainable food, farm, flower and forest issues. It ain't rocket science, but it's the basis our our lives and economy.  Care for family and friends is our only real social security. It may sound silly to say that, but when you experience the opposite - people that just don't care - you know what we're talking about.
