Pista Sa Nayon: Filipino Cultural CelebrationHeld annually on the Vallejo water front in the summer this festival celebrates Filipino cultural heritage. It is of the biggest Filipino events in the United States. Vallejo has been rated as the most diverse city in the United States, according to the New York Times. The city is home to over 120,000 people, including 30,000 Filipino Americans. Vallejo’s ties to the Philippines date back to 1898, when ships that fought in the Battle of Manila Bay left Mare Island for their long journey across the Pacific Ocean. Since then, Filipinos have come to Vallejo to work, buy homes, raise families and start businesses.  Website
