The Chabot Park Estates neighborhood was planned in the 1940s and is part of an area known as Grass Valley, east of 580 and South of Sequoyah Heights. The development was advertised as having "ranch homes in a country setting". This area also includes Sheffield Village.

The area was owned and developed by Ken Bemis, head of the company behind the White Log Tavern restaurant chain. 1
