William Evans (1835-1896) was a San Luis Obispo architect, contractor, and builder. 

He was born in Ohio on 10 March 1835 and married to Sarah Pamela Evans. 

Projects Evans worked on included the Pavilion, Eagle Hotel (1887 rebuild) commercial buildings, many residences, and several warehouses for the Southern Pacific Milling Company in the county. He worked with architect H. S. Laird on several projects.
